Sean Lau Ching-Wan
Sean Lau Ching-Wan (Chinese: 劉青雲), born on February 16, 1964, is a prominent actor from Hong Kong, celebrated for his accolades including the Hong Kong Film Award and the Golden Bauhinia Award. Hailing from Hong Kong, Lau embarked on his acting journey by enrolling in TVB's acting classes in 1983. He made his television debut the following year, featuring in the drama "Draw Out the Rainbow." Initially facing challenges due to his darker complexion and not fitting the conventional leading-man image, Lau's breakthrough came with the highly acclaimed stock market series "The Greed of Man" in 1992, where he starred alongside Adam Cheng.
Lau's talent and dedication paved the way for a successful career in film, distinguishing him as one of the few Hong Kong actors to seamlessly transition from television to the silver screen. Today, he is recognized for his exclusive focus on film acting. Off-screen, Lau is married to Amy Kwok, a former Miss Hong Kong who was crowned in 1991 and is also a notable former television actress. Their partnership adds a personal layer to his already impressive public persona, solidifying Lau’s status as a respected figure in the Hong Kong entertainment industry.
