Ursula Thiess

Ursula Thiess (May 15, 1924 – June 19, 2010) was a notable German film actress who enjoyed a short-lived career in Hollywood during the 1950s.

Her journey in entertainment began on the theatrical stage in Germany, where she also provided dubbed female voices for American films under the name Ursula Schmidt. After marrying Georg Otto Thiess, she adopted the name Ursula Thiess and gained significant popularity, gracing the covers of various German magazines. In 1954, she was featured on the cover of Life magazine, hailed as a rising model and referred to as the "most beautiful woman in the world."

Encouraged by Howard Hughes, Ursula left postwar Germany to pursue her Hollywood dreams and signed with RKO Pictures. She appeared alongside prominent actors in several films, including her roles with Robert Stack in *The Iron Glove* (1952), Rock Hudson in *Bengal Brigade* (1954), Glenn Ford in *The Americano* (1955), and Robert Mitchum in *Bandido* (1956). Despite her brief time in the limelight, Ursula Thiess remains a captivating figure in film history, remembered for her contributions to cinema during a transformative period.
