John Neville
John Neville, OBE, CM, was a distinguished English actor whose remarkable career spanned both theatre and film. In 1972, he relocated to Canada with his family, where he continued to make significant contributions to the performing arts. Neville garnered international acclaim for his captivating portrayal of the titular character in Terry Gilliam's 1988 fantasy film, "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen." This role marked a pivotal moment in his career, reintroducing him to global audiences.
In recognition of his artistic achievements and contributions to Canadian culture, Neville was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2006, the nation's highest civilian honor.
