Angela Featherstone
Angela Eileen Featherstone, born on April 3, 1965, in Hamilton, Ontario, is a multifaceted Canadian actress, writer, director, and passionate advocate for foster care youth. At just 17, after emancipating from foster care, she made headlines as Canada's leading model when her cover for Flare magazine shattered sales records. This achievement propelled her to New York, where she joined the prestigious Click Models and became one of the earliest signings for Next, traveling globally as a prominent fashion figure throughout the 1980s.
Transitioning into acting, Featherstone leveraged her unique looks to take on diverse and unexpected roles. She gained widespread recognition for her memorable performances as the Maid on *Seinfeld*, Chloe on *Friends*, and Linda in *The Wedding Singer*. More recently, she portrayed Maggie in Showtime's *Ray Donovan* and Jame in HBO's *Girls*. Beyond acting, she has developed sitcoms for major networks like Sony, DreamWorks, and NBC and has contributed essays to notable publications such as Time and Huffington Post. Her poignant essay on childhood trauma, "God Said No," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
Featherstone is also a dedicated advocate for children in foster care, having volunteered with the Children's Action Network and mentoring youth through Kidsave. In 2021, she founded Fosteringcare.org, a nonprofit aimed at supporting youth transitioning out of foster care. With her rich background in modeling, writing, and advocacy, Featherstone continues to lecture on subjects like PTSD and child welfare, striving to create safe spaces for healing and growth.
