Michael Ruppert
Michael Craig Ruppert (February 3, 1951 – April 13, 2014) was a notable American author, investigative journalist, and a former officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. He was particularly recognized for his insights on peak oil and his critique of various socio-political issues.
Until 2006, Ruppert served as the editor and publisher of *From The Wilderness*, a newsletter and online platform that delved into a diverse array of subjects, including international politics, civil liberties, the CIA, drug trade, economic corruption, and alternative narratives surrounding the events of 9/11. His most significant contribution to literature is the book *Crossing The Rubicon: The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil*, which explores the intersections of energy policy and geopolitics.
Ruppert's compelling views and investigative work garnered him a substantial following, leading to his appearance in the 2009 documentary *Collapse*, which examined his theories on societal collapse due to resource depletion and systemic corruption.
Tragically, Michael Ruppert’s life ended on April 13, 2014, when he took his own life at his residence in Napa County, California. His legacy continues to influence discussions surrounding sustainability, government transparency, and social justice.
