T Bone Burnett
Joseph Henry "T Bone" Burnett III, born on January 14, 1948, is a prominent American record producer, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. His musical journey includes a notable stint as a guitarist for Bob Dylan’s band in the 1970s. Burnett's exceptional talent has earned him multiple Grammy Awards, particularly for his contributions to film soundtracks like O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), Cold Mountain (2004), Walk the Line (2005), and Crazy Heart (2010). In 2007, he garnered another Grammy for his production of Raising Sand, a groundbreaking collaboration that fused the contemporary bluegrass of Alison Krauss with the blues rock of Robert Plant, the legendary frontman of Led Zeppelin.
Beyond his production work, Burnett has played a significant role in mentoring various artists, including Counting Crows, Los Lobos, Sam Phillips, and Gillian Welch, while also helping to revive the careers of icons like Gregg Allman and Roy Orbison. His production expertise extends to acclaimed television series such as Nashville and True Detective. In addition to his work with other artists, Burnett has released several solo albums, including Tooth of Crime (2008), which he created for a revival of Sam Shepard's play of the same name.
