His father, Kenneth Becker, was an alumnus of the Pasadena Playhouse and notably had the first on-screen fight with Elvis Presley in the film *Loving You* (1957). Meanwhile, his mother, Patti Kane, enjoyed a memorable role as Sandra Dee's best friend in the classic film *Gidget* (1959).
