Grande Otelo, born Sebastião Bernardes de Souza Prata OMC on October 18, 1915, in Uberlândia, was a prominent Brazilian actor, comedian, singer, producer, and composer. His career flourished in the vibrant atmosphere of Rio de Janeiro's casinos and revue theaters, where he captivated audiences with his talent and charisma. Grande Otelo gained immense popularity during the 1940s and 1950s, particularly through his performances in chanchadas, a genre of Brazilian musical comedies.
