Hailing from Orpington, England, Felicity grew up in a musically inclined family; her father was a skilled pianist, while her mother graced concert halls with her singing. Felicity’s creative spirit extended to publishing when she founded the arts magazine "Avant Garde." However, a pivotal encounter with Leonard Cohen at age 21 reignited her passion for music. She recorded her debut album with Run River Records, which garnered acclaim in the folk community and won the award for Best Folk Album at the Which CD Hi-Fi Music Awards in 1989. In 1990, she toured the USA as a supporting act for Eric Andersen. Today, Felicity Buirski continues to be celebrated as a distinguished folk singer, maintaining her influence in the music scene.
