Madeleine Joan Blaustein, known professionally as Maddie Blaustein and born Adam Blaustein on October 9, 1960, was a prominent American voice actress whose talents left an indelible mark on the world of animation and gaming. Hailing from Long Island, New York, she was the second of five siblings and developed a passion for performance early on.

Blaustein is perhaps best remembered for her voice work in popular series such as Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, where she lent her voice to Sartorius, and the iconic character Meowth in Pokémon, spanning from Episode 29 through Season 8. Additionally, she voiced Solomon Muto in the Yu-Gi-Oh! sequel series and took on roles like Chef Kawasaki in Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, Doctor Kureha in One Piece, and multiple characters in Valkyrie Profile, showcasing her incredible vocal range.

Beyond voice acting, Blaustein was also a talented comic book writer and artist, contributing to both Marvel Comics and Milestone Comics, and served as an animation director. She later became the Creative Director for the Weekly World News. Her versatility extended to video games, where she voiced Margarete in Shadow Hearts and E-123 Omega in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

An active participant in the transgender community, Blaustein used her platform to support and organize groups in virtual spaces like Second Life, where she was known as Kendra Bancroft. Tragically, she passed away in her sleep on December 11, 2008, at the age of 48, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and advocacy.
