During the late '80s, Tara also left her mark in Mani Ratnam's blockbuster Tamil films, *Nayagan* and *Agni Natchathiram*, as a supporting actress.

Throughout her career, Tara worked alongside many of the leading actors of the 80s and 90s, including Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, and Shivarajkumar, among others. She received her second Best Actress state award for *Kanooru Heggadithi* and a Best Supporting Actress award for *Munjaneya Manju*.
