Thomas Acda
Thomas Acda, born on March 6, 1967, in Amsterdam, is a prominent Dutch singer, actor, and comedian, best recognized as a former member of the acclaimed duo Acda en De Munnik. Raised in De Rijp, Acda pursued his passion for the performing arts after completing high school. Initially enrolling in a theater school, he soon transitioned to the Kleinkunstacademie in Amsterdam, where he met his future musical partner, Paul de Munnik. The duo graduated in 1993, receiving the prestigious Pisuisse-prize for their collaborative project.
In 1995, Acda and de Munnik reunited to create the successful theater production "Zwerf'On," which led to the release of their songs on CD, marking the beginning of their dual career in music and theater. Throughout his career, Acda has engaged in various creative endeavors, including performing in the band Herman en Ik and starring in the television series "In voor en tegenspoed." He contributed to the comedy segment of the show "Spijkers" (later known as "Kopspijkers") and was a panel member on "Dit was het nieuws," the Dutch adaptation of "Have I Got News for You."
Acda's film credits include notable titles such as "All Stars," "The Missing Link," and "Lek." His song "Als Het Vuur Gedoofd Is" from Acda en De Munnik featured prominently in the successful film "All Stars," leading to a television series adaptation in which he played the role of goalkeeper Willem. The series began each episode with the beloved track "Groen als gras" by the duo.
