Reiko Oshida

1 title Acting Sep 15, 1948 Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan

Reiko Oshida (大信田礼子) is a prominent Japanese actress and singer whose career began to flourish after she was crowned the International Teen Princess in 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. This prestigious recognition opened the door for her acting debut in the Daiei Studios film "School for Thieves" (Kigeki: dôrobô gakkô) in 1968. Following this, she became well-known for her roles in all four films of Toei Company’s "Delinquent Girl Boss" series, establishing her as a significant figure in Japanese cinema.

What sets Oshida apart from many of her contemporaries in the pink film genre is her decision to refrain from appearing nude in any of her projects, a choice that distinguished her in an industry known for such portrayals. As the popularity of pink films waned in the late 1970s, she adeptly transitioned to a variety of other roles, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Her most recent performance was in the 2005 film "Satoru: Fourteen" (Shonen to hoshi to jitensha).

In addition to her acting career, Oshida made her mark as a J-pop singer during the 1970s, further diversifying her artistic contributions. Her enduring influence in the entertainment industry highlights her significant achievements and adaptability throughout the decades.
