Gustav Botz (August 4, 1883 – September 29, 1932) was a prominent German actor known for his extensive work in the film industry during the silent film era.

Born in Bremen, part of the German Empire, Botz embarked on his acting journey in the late 1910s. He made his film debut with a series of productions including "The Foreign Prince," "The Devil," and "His Majesty the Hypochondriac," all released in 1918. His portfolio quickly expanded with notable films such as "The Rose of Stamboul" (1919), "The Secret of the American Docks" (1919), and "The Head of Janus" (1920). Throughout the early 1920s, he showcased his talent in significant works like "Lola Montez, the King's Dancer" (1922), "Dr. Mabuse the Gambler" (1922), and the legendary horror classic "Nosferatu" (1922).

As the 1920s progressed, Botz continued to contribute to the film scene with roles in "The Courier from Lisbon" (1921) and "Peter Voss, Thief of Millions" (1921). However, after completing his final film, "My Leopold," in 1924, he decided to retire from acting. Despite his relatively short career, Gustav Botz left an indelible mark on German cinema before his passing on September 29, 1932.
