Kid Creole
Thomas August Darnell Browder, known in the music world as August Darnell or Kid Creole, is a celebrated American singer, songwriter, and musician. He initially gained prominence as a co-founder of Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band alongside his half-brother Stony Browder Jr. Later, he established and led the eclectic group Kid Creole and the Coconuts, which featured a talented trio of female backing vocalists known as the Coconuts. The band's distinctive sound is a vibrant blend that encompasses salsa, no wave, jazz, disco, pop, and big band influences.
Throughout his career, Darnell has not only made a mark with his own music but has also written and produced tracks for various artists, including Machine and Gichy Dan's Beachwood No. 9. Kid Creole and the Coconuts have made significant contributions to the film industry, with their track "My Male Curiosity" featured in the 1984 film Against All Odds, highlighting their versatility and appeal.
