Vikram Gokhale
Vikram Gokhale was a distinguished Indian actor renowned for his contributions to film, television, and the stage, particularly within Marathi theatre and Hindi cinema. Born into a family with a rich theatrical legacy, he was the son of the celebrated Marathi actor Chandrakant Gokhale. Gokhale's career spanned several decades, and he made a significant mark in the industry, directing his first film, Aaghaat, in 2010.
In his personal life, Gokhale married Vrushali in 1975, and together they raised two daughters, Aasavari and Neha. Vrushali herself enjoyed a career in acting, appearing in various films and television series, including Aaj Jhale Mukt Mi and Shwetambara. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Gokhale was an entrepreneur, managing a real estate business named Sujata Farms in Pune, and he actively engaged in social causes. His family's charitable foundation dedicated resources to support disabled veterans, assist children of leprosy patients, and provide educational opportunities for orphans.
In February 2016, due to health issues related to his throat, Gokhale stepped back from the stage, though he continued to work in films. His enduring legacy is marked by his multifaceted contributions to the arts and his commitment to social responsibility until his passing.
