Jarunun Phantachat
Jaa Jarunun Phantachat is a distinguished figure in the performing arts, recognized as an actor, playwright, director, and producer. She serves as the co-artistic director of B-Floor Theatre, a physical theatre company situated in Bangkok. Jarunun completed her studies in Mass Communication at Chiang Mai University and has honed her craft in various forms of physical theatre, including modern dance, Laban Effort Qualities, Butoh, and Viewpoints. Her performances with B-Floor have garnered international acclaim, leading to numerous tours abroad.
In 2014, she was honored with the Silpathorn Award for her exceptional contributions to theatre, presented by Thailand's Ministry of Contemporary Art and Culture. The following year, she earned the Best Direction award from the Thai Section of the International Association of Theatre Critics for her work on "Test of Endurance." Her productions "Fundamental" in 2016 and "Something Missing" in 2018 both received accolades for Best Ensemble Performance, Best Art Direction, and Best Movement Based Performance from IATC – Thailand.
Jarunun also showcased her talent in film, winning the Best Actress award for her role in "Ferris Wheel" at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia and the Thai Short Film & Video Festival in 2016. In addition to her theatrical endeavors, she contributes as a freelance writer, directs voice-overs for the popular online game “Blizzard's Hearthstone” in Thailand, and is a co-founder of Collective Thai Scripts, which focuses on translating and publishing contemporary Thai plays.
