Farrah Fawcett

Farrah Leni Fawcett (February 2, 1947 – June 25, 2009) was a celebrated American actress, fashion icon, and visual artist. Renowned for her contributions to television and film, she garnered four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and six Golden Globe Award nominations throughout her career. Fawcett gained worldwide recognition for her iconic portrayal of private investigator Jill Munroe in the hit series Charlie's Angels, which aired from 1976 to 1977.

Her career took off in the 1960s, where she began with commercials and guest appearances on various television shows. The 1970s saw her in recurring roles on series like Harry O (1974–1976) and The Six Million Dollar Man (1974–1978), alongside her then-husband, actor Lee Majors. Fawcett became a cultural sensation with her famous red swimsuit poster, which sold six million copies within its first year. After the first season of Charlie's Angels, she chose to depart but made guest appearances in later seasons, earning her first Golden Globe nomination for the role.

Fawcett's talent shone in the theater as well, earning acclaim for her performance in the Off-Broadway play Extremities in 1983, which led to a film adaptation in 1986. She received further recognition for her dramatic roles in The Burning Bed (1984) and Small Sacrifices (1989). In the 2000s, she continued to leave her mark on television, appearing in Spin City (2001) and The Guardian (2002–2003), the latter earning her a third Emmy nomination.

Sadly, Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and passed away at the age of 62. Her journey was documented in the 2009 NBC film Farrah's Story, which earned her a posthumous Emmy nomination for producing.
