Daniela Abad Lombana is a talented Colombian filmmaker renowned for her contributions to documentary and short film. She gained significant recognition as the co-director of the acclaimed documentary “Carta a una sombra” (2015), which is inspired by Hector Abad Faciolince's novel “El olvido que seremos.” This poignant work earned two prestigious India Catalina awards, showcasing her ability to convey powerful narratives through visual storytelling.

Building on her success, Abad Lombana premiered her second feature, "The Smiling Lombana," at the FICCI in 2018, where it served as the festival's opening film. Her directorial prowess extends to short films, including “Das ist kunst” (2016) and “Our Father” (2015), both of which reflect her unique artistic vision. Additionally, she produced the documentary “Corte de hombre” (2017), directed by Manuel Villa, further establishing her role in the Colombian film industry.

In 2018, Abad Lombana co-founded La Selva Cine, a production company created alongside Laura Mora, Mirlanda Torres, Pablo Mora, and Manuela Villa, aimed at fostering innovative film projects. That same year, she received a grant from the FDC for short film production, which supported her latest project, “La Cama.” Through her diverse body of work, Daniela Abad Lombana continues to make significant contributions to the cinematic landscape in Colombia.
