Simon John Pegg (born Beckingham on February 14, 1970) is a renowned English actor, comedian, and screenwriter. He gained significant recognition in the UK as the co-creator of the acclaimed Channel 4 sitcom *Spaced*, which aired from 1999 to 2001 and was directed by Edgar Wright. Pegg partnered with Wright to co-write the beloved films *Shaun of the Dead* (2004), *Hot Fuzz* (2007), and *The World's End* (2013), collectively referred to as the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, where Pegg starred alongside his frequent collaborator, Nick Frost. Together, they also crafted the sci-fi comedy *Paul* (2011).

Pegg is celebrated for his versatility as an actor, having achieved what Radio Times describes as the "Holy Grail of Nerd-dom." He has played iconic supporting roles in popular franchises, including *Doctor Who* (2005) and *Star Wars: The Force Awakens* (2015), as well as portraying Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in the *Star Trek* reboot series from 2009 to 2016. Additionally, Pegg has made his mark in the *Mission: Impossible* film series, appearing as Benji Dunn since 2006. He also lent his voice to Buck in the *Ice Age* franchise, featuring in *Dawn of the Dinosaurs* (2009), *Collision Course* (2016), and *The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild* (2022).
