Jack Hickey
Jack Hickey is a celebrated Irish actor and director, renowned for his contributions to both television and film. He completed his training at the prestigious Gaiety School of Acting, graduating in 2010.
Hickey gained significant recognition in 2017 when he took on the role of Matt, Carly's (played by Gemma Atkinson) father, in the popular soap opera Emmerdale. His diverse acting career includes notable guest appearances in acclaimed series such as Game of Thrones, Penny Dreadful, and Jericho. He has also showcased his talent in feature films, including Mary Shelley and Sea Fever, where he starred alongside Hermione Corfield.
As a director, Hickey made a remarkable debut with his film Cynthia, which garnered accolades at both the Galway Film Fleadh and the Irish Film Festival in London. The film was not only well-received but also earned a long-listing for the 92nd Academy Awards. This project was produced under his own production company, Cooper Alley Productions, which he co-founded with his sister, Lara Hickey.
In 2022, he expanded his repertoire by joining the cast of Netflix's Vikings: Valhalla, portraying Richard II, Duke of Normandy. He continued to diversify his roles with a part in the upcoming 2024 police procedural drama Borderline and is set to appear in the sports film Saipan as Niall Quinn, sharing the screen with Steve Coogan.
