Anil Nagrath
Anil Nagrath, a distinguished Indian actor and film industry professional, hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He initially embarked on his career in the corporate realm, beginning as a Management Trainee at Dalmia Dairy Industries Ltd. His remarkable rise saw him become Branch Manager in Bombay, and later, Regional Manager East following the company’s acquisition of Golden Tobacco Ltd. After spending a decade in corporate leadership, Nagrath made a pivotal transition to the film industry in 1982, producing the critically acclaimed "Surkhiyaan," which featured renowned actors like Naseeruddin Shah and Suresh Oberoi. He also directed "Aaj Ki Taaqat," produced by Deepak Joshi, and over his career, has appeared in more than 600 films from 1987 to 2025.
Nagrath's corporate acumen led him to significant roles in industry associations. He was elected to the Executive Committee of both IMPPA (Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association) and FMC (Film Makers Combine), where he served as Secretary starting in 1987. His tenure was marked by effective guidance and dispute resolution, earning FMC the title of the "Supreme Court of the Film Industry."
Later, as the Director General of AMPTPP (Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers), he expanded the organization significantly, enhancing its membership and financial stability. He founded Nagrath Consultants to address various industry needs and has been reappointed Secretary of IMPPA multiple times, contributing to its growth in income and credibility. Additionally, he is a Trustee at Pushp Kunj Hospital in Indore and holds memberships in CINTAA and the Indian Film & TV Directors Association.
