Danny Lau Dan

Danny Lau Dan was born in Shanghai in 1945 and relocated to Hong Kong with his family at the age of five. In 1968, he embarked on his acting journey by enrolling in a training program at the Cathay Film Organisation. Upon completing his studies, he was signed by the studio and began his career in supporting roles. His breakthrough moment came in 1970 with the film "An Apple A Day."

In 1971, Lau made a significant move to Shaw Brothers Studios, where he starred in notable films such as "The Devil's Mirror" and "The Warlord." However, by 1972, he shifted his focus primarily to voice dubbing while still making occasional film appearances.

Lau's career took a new turn in 1977 when he joined TVB as a contract actor. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of a villain in the iconic television series "The Bund," which solidified his status in the industry. Over the next two decades, Danny Lau became a prominent figure on TVB, consistently appearing in various dramas and establishing himself as one of Hong Kong's beloved artists. His contributions to film and television continue to resonate with audiences, marking him as a significant presence in the entertainment landscape.
