Steve Cardenas
Stephen Antonio Cardenas, born on May 29, 1974, is a distinguished former actor and martial artist of Mexican-American heritage, best recognized for his role as Rocky DeSantos in the iconic television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Cardenas entered the world at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, and began his martial arts journey at the young age of 12. His portrayal of Rocky marked a significant shift in the series as he took over the mantle of the Red Ranger from Jason Lee Scott, originally portrayed by Austin St. John. Cardenas also transitioned to the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo. His time on the show came to an abrupt end during the Turbo season due to an injury sustained while filming the final episode of Power Rangers Zeo.
Beyond his notable role in the Power Rangers franchise, Cardenas remains a beloved figure in the fandom, frequently appearing at conventions such as the Power Morphicon in 2007 and the Anime Expo in 2009.
