Martin Hynes
Martin Hynes, a native of Eugene, Oregon, pursued higher education at Columbia University, earning a degree in history. His career began in the vibrant world of New York theater and sketch comedy during his college years. Seeking to deepen his film expertise, Hynes attended the prestigious graduate film program at the University of Southern California (USC), where he was honored with the Paramount Pictures Fellowship. His student film, "Al as in Al," gained recognition by premiering at HBO's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival and was selected by USC to represent the best student work in the institution's 75-year history.
Following his time at USC, Hynes directed his first independent feature, "The Big Split," which featured him alongside actress Judy Greer and made its debut at AFI's Los Angeles International Film Festival. He also gained acclaim for his role in the beloved short film "George Lucas In Love," where his portrayal of a young George Lucas earned him a Best Actor award at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
