Astrid Henning-Jensen

Astrid Henning-Jensen was a prominent figure in Danish cinema, known for her multifaceted roles as a film director, actress, editor, and screenwriter. Born in Denmark, she entered the film industry in 1941, collaborating closely with her husband, filmmaker Bjarne Henning-Jensen, initially as his assistant at Nordisk Film. Their partnership led to a prolific creative synergy, as they co-directed and co-wrote numerous projects, while also supporting each other in their individual endeavors.

Over her extensive career, which spanned more than five decades, Henning-Jensen made significant contributions to the film landscape, producing a diverse array of works including short films, documentaries, and feature films for Danish television.
