Joe Blank
Joe Blank, a talented writer and director hailing from the outskirts of New York City, has carved out a unique niche in the film industry. His journey began with crafting visually striking DV tape videos featuring miniature toys and family celebrations. This early passion for storytelling evolved as he created comedic shorts for YouTube alongside friends, drawing inspiration from the renowned comedy group The Lonely Island.
Blank pursued his undergraduate studies in film at Syracuse University, where the frigid temperatures were a stark contrast to his creative ambitions. He also broadened his artistic horizons through a study program at F.A.M.U. in Prague, Czech Republic, where he picked up a few Czech language skills along the way.
After earning his degree, Joe Blank relocated to Brooklyn, NY, and later Los Angeles, where he continued to develop his filmmaking career. His debut feature film, "Roman Candle," showcased his ability to blend humor and emotion, earning him recognition in independent film circles. Currently, Blank is in post-production on two significant projects: a narrative short film titled "The Interview" and his second feature, "Friends from Home." Through his innovative approach and dedication, Joe Blank continues to make a mark in the world of film.
