Brian Laurence Bennett, OBE (born on February 9, 1940), is a distinguished English musician renowned for his roles as a drummer, pianist, composer, and producer within the popular music scene. He is most famously recognized as the drummer for the iconic UK rock and roll band, the Shadows, and is also the father of fellow musician Warren Bennett, who is part of the Shadows ensemble.

Bennett's journey began in Palmers Green, North London, where he received his education at Hazlewood Lane School and Winchmore Council School. He left formal education at the age of sixteen to pursue drumming in a skiffle group based in Ramsgate, entertaining holidaymakers. Upon returning to London, he became the resident drummer at The 2i's Coffee Bar in Soho and often performed on the television show Oh Boy!, hosted by Jack Good.

In 1959, he joined Marty Wilde's Wildcats, gaining popularity and contributing to the instrumental hit "Trambone" under the name Krew Kats. In October 1961, he took over for Tony Meehan as the drummer for Cliff Richard and the Shadows. The band achieved remarkable success with instrumental tracks like "Apache," "F.B.I.," "Wonderful Land," and "Foot Tapper." Although the Shadows disbanded temporarily between 1968 and 1973, Bennett continued with the group through various line-ups, participating in their European tour in May 2005.

Bennett has also contributed to Cliff Richard’s backing band and has dabbled in playing the piano and vibraphone. His solo work includes the 1967 jazz album Change of Direction, marking the first solo release by a Shadows member. He has also had music featured in several films by Radley Metzger during the 1970s.
