XXXTentacion
Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, known to the world as XXXTentacion, was an influential American rapper, singer, and songwriter born on January 23, 1998, in Plantation, Florida, and raised in Lauderhill. His distinctive style, marked by tattoos and ever-changing half-colored hair, made him a standout figure in the hip-hop landscape, especially among younger audiences.
Onfroy's musical journey began after his release from a juvenile detention center, leading him to launch his career on SoundCloud in 2013. He quickly gained traction within the SoundCloud rap scene, blending elements of lo-fi music with hard-hitting beats. His breakthrough track "Look at Me" earned Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), marking the start of his rise to fame.
His debut album, *17*, released on August 25, 2017, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and was praised for its intimate storytelling and eclectic sound. The album also achieved Platinum status by August 15, 2018. Following this success, Onfroy released his second album, *?*, on March 16, 2018, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album's singles, including "Sad!", "Changes," and "Moonlight," all reached the Billboard Hot 100's top 20, with "Sad!" later becoming a posthumous number one hit after his tragic passing.
On June 18, 2018, at just 20 years old, XXXTentacion was shot and killed during a robbery at a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. His untimely death shocked fans and left a significant void in the music industry.
