Sandy Sanders

Sandy Sanders, a distinguished stuntman, actor, and horse trainer, was born on May 23, 1919, in Hereford, Texas. His early life saw him moving across various locations in the United States. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, Sanders developed a unique horse act that caught the attention of a film crew in Kansas. Encouraged by a producer to pursue a career in Hollywood, he made the leap to the West Coast.

Not long after arriving in Hollywood, Sanders secured a position as Gene Autry's stunt double at Columbia Pictures, marking the beginning of his impressive four-decade career. Throughout his time in the industry, he showcased his skills in numerous films and television series, performing daring stunts and taking on acting roles that solidified his reputation. Beyond his work in front of the camera, Sanders was also an accomplished rope and horse trainer, owning a riding stable and teaching horseback riding both during his filming commitments and in his free time.

Sandy Sanders passed away on January 2, 2005, at the age of 85 in Santa Maria, California, leaving behind a legacy that highlights his multifaceted talents and contributions to the entertainment world.
