Makayla Walker Louboutin, known in the drag scene as Makayla Couture, is a talented Black Trans Drag Queen, dancer, actress, and multidisciplinary artist. With extensive training in classical, contemporary, and musical theater, she infuses her performances with a distinctive flair that celebrates Black culture while paying tribute to the glamour of old Hollywood. Makayla aims to be a beacon of representation for Black youth who have ever felt marginalized or different.
Residing in the Jane-Finch community, she is deeply committed to fostering arts programming for young people, ensuring they have access to creative outlets. Outside of her performances and artistic endeavors, Makayla plays a vital role as a Creative Director on the Core Team of the Flaunt It Movement, which advocates for self-expression and empowerment.
Her rise to prominence began with a memorable guest appearance on season 2 of Canada's Drag Race, where she was transformed by eventual champion Icesis Couture. This appearance earned her a place in the 'House of Couture,' a significant milestone in her career. Subsequently, she showcased her talent as a contestant on the second season of Call Me Mother, further solidifying her status in the drag community. Through her artistry, Makayla Couture continues to inspire and uplift others while making a lasting impact on the cultural landscape.
