Bruce LaBruce is a renowned Canadian filmmaker, photographer, writer, and artist residing in Toronto. With a diverse body of work that includes numerous short films, he has directed and written nine feature films that have garnered international acclaim. Among these, "Gerontophilia" won the Grand Prix at the Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal in 2013, while "Pierrot Lunaire" received the Teddy Award Special Jury Prize at the Berlinale in 2014.
In recognition of his influential contributions to cinema, LaBruce has had film retrospectives at prestigious venues, including the TIFF/Bell Lightbox in 2014 and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 2015.
