Barbara Kwiatkowska-Lass was a renowned Polish actress known for her work in both theater and film. Despite receiving formal training in ballet and dance, she shifted her focus to acting, which led to her first significant role in the 1957 comedy "Ewa chce spać," directed by Tadeusz Chmielewski. This performance helped her gain substantial recognition throughout Poland. In 1959, she emigrated from Poland to the West, where she quickly became involved in several high-profile film projects. Notably, she appeared in "La millième fenêtre," alongside Jean-Louis Trintignant, and in "Che gioia vivere," featuring Alain Delon. That same year, she married acclaimed film director Roman Polanski; however, their marriage was short-lived, ending in divorce in 1962.

Throughout her career, Kwiatkowska-Lass showcased her versatility as an actress, leaving a lasting mark on the film industry.
