Karen Grassle
Karen Trust Grassle, born on February 25, 1942, is a distinguished American actress celebrated for her portrayal of Caroline Ingalls in the beloved NBC series *Little House on the Prairie*, which aired from 1974 to 1983. Her journey into the world of acting began with summers at the Stanford Contemporary Workshop and the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, where she embraced both classical and contemporary roles. Grassle's first professional performance took place at the Front Street Theatre in Memphis, Tennessee, after her time in London.
While residing in New York City, she made her Broadway debut in the 1968 production *The Gingham Dog* and later appeared in *Butterflies Are Free*. She also received acclaim for her role in *Cymbeline* during Shakespeare in the Park alongside notable actors like Christopher Walken. Grassle's television career includes memorable appearances on soap operas and episodic series such as *Gunsmoke*, where she played Fran in "The Wiving."
