Jerry Stiller
Gerald Isaac Stiller (June 8, 1927 – May 11, 2020) was a prominent American actor and comedian, best known for his dynamic performances in both film and television. He gained notoriety as part of the comedy duo Stiller and Meara alongside his wife, Anne Meara, with whom he shared a loving marriage that lasted over six decades until her passing in 2015.
Stiller experienced a remarkable resurgence in his career beginning in 1993 when he portrayed Frank Costanza, the iconic father of George Costanza, on the groundbreaking sitcom Seinfeld. This role not only became a fan favorite but also earned him an Emmy nomination, solidifying his place in television history. Following the conclusion of Seinfeld, he took on the role of the quirky Arthur Spooner in the hit CBS series The King of Queens, further establishing himself as a beloved comedic talent.
In addition to his television success, Stiller collaborated with his son, Ben Stiller, in several films, including Zoolander, Heavyweights, The Heartbreak Kid, and Zoolander 2. He also showcased his versatile voice acting skills in projects such as The Lion King 1½ and Planes: Fire and Rescue.
