China Anne McClain, born on August 25, 1998, is a multifaceted American actress and singer whose career took off at a young age. She made her film debut at seven, playing Alexis in The Gospel (2005), followed by her role as China James in Daddy's Little Girls (2007). McClain gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Jazmine Payne in Tyler Perry's House of Payne, which spanned from 2007 to 2012 and resumed in 2020. She further showcased her talent in the film Grown Ups (2010) and became a household name as Chyna Parks in the Disney Channel series A.N.T. Farm (2011-2014). Her portrayal of Uma in the Disney films Descendants 2 (2017) and Descendants 3 (2019) solidified her status in the entertainment industry. More recently, she starred as Jennifer Pierce/Lightning in The CW's superhero series Black Lightning (2018-2021) and reprised her role as Jazmine in the revival of The Paynes on OWN (2018).
