David Crellin, an English actor born in 1961 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, has made a significant mark in the television industry with his diverse range of roles. He is best recognized for portraying Billy Hopwood in the long-running soap opera Emmerdale, as well as Alan Wakefield in the critically acclaimed, BAFTA-winning series The Cops on BBC Two. Additionally, he took on the role of the menacing gangster Jimmy Clayton in Coronation Street, and also appeared as charge nurse Thornton, who cared for Don Brennan post-accident, and receiver Graham Baxter at MVB Motors. Crellin's versatility was further showcased when he played Jimmy Grainger in the inaugural series of Waterloo Road on BBC One.

In 2008, Crellin expanded his artistic pursuits by signing with the British independent label Everyday Records, leading to the release of his debut EP, Innocent Bystander. Two years later, he made a return to Coronation Street, this time playing Colin Fishwick, a teacher and friend of character John Stape. His foundational training in acting was completed at the esteemed Rose Bruford College of Speech & Drama.

Currently, David resides in Horwich, near Bolton, where he enjoys life with his wife and children, balancing his family commitments alongside his ongoing career in the entertainment industry.
