Kate Levering

Kate Levering, born on January 1, 1979, in Sacramento, California, is a talented American actress and dancer renowned for her contributions to musical theater. She began her artistic journey at El Camino Fundamental High School, where she immersed herself in various musicals and dance programs, graduating in 1997. Shortly thereafter, Levering moved to New York City to chase her dreams on Broadway.

In 2001, she achieved significant acclaim for her role as Peggy Sawyer in the revival of the classic musical *42nd Street*. Levering's performance earned her a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and she was honored with the Fred Astaire Award for Best Female Dancer, recognizing her exceptional tap dancing skills. Although her time in *42nd Street* was brief, lasting only three months, she left a lasting impression, and her work is preserved on the cast album.

Following her success in *42nd Street*, Levering took on the lead role in the ambitious but unsuccessful musical *Thou Shalt Not*, which featured music by Harry Connick, Jr., and choreography by Susan Stroman.
