Jake Estrada
Jake Estrada, born Jacob James Estrada in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the son of Nilda and Santiago "Chago" Estrada, who emigrated from Puerto Rico to the United States in 1952. Chago worked as a roofer until his passing, while Nilda recognized Jake’s passion for the arts early on and enrolled him in the Lighthouse, a local community center focused on fostering creativity in children through art and theater.
Tragedy struck at the age of 12 when Jake lost his cousin to a hate crime, prompting his family to relocate to South Jersey. He graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1996 and pursued a career in the underground comic book scene, debuting in 2005 with his comic series, *Bocas*, which featured a Puerto Rican vigilante. In 2006, he moved to Central Florida, where he has since published over 70 comics and serves as the publisher of *Space Coast Comixx*, a regional magazine dedicated to comic culture.
Estrada's work has also appeared in various publications, including *Spotlight Magazine* and *Al Dia Today!*. Beyond comics, he has taken on the role of life coach, advocating for youth by sharing his experiences growing up in challenging environments and promoting the transformative power of art.
His foray into acting began with a memorable role as the Cereal Killer in the local production *Fatman TV*, where he enjoyed the creative process and sought out additional opportunities. Jake is also recognized for his work on *Bocas* and *Zoomed*.
