Willie Mellina

Willie Mellina hails from Waco, Texas, and has made a name for himself in the performing arts, particularly for his portrayal of George Washington in the acclaimed trilogy, "Washington's Armor." His passion for the stage ignited at the age of 20, and since then, he has shared the spotlight with Broadway luminaries, including Tony Yazbeck, and has been under the direction of Billy Porter, the Tony Award-winning director known for "Kinky Boots."

Mellina's training encompasses a vast array of artistic disciplines. He has mastered various dance styles, including tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop, and has received vocal instruction in classical Italian, musical theater, pop, country, and rock genres. His acting skills are honed through rigorous study of methods such as Stanislavsky, Meisner, and Shakespearean techniques, alongside scene study, improvisation, and film acting.

A proud alumnus of the University of Oklahoma, Mellina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Musical Theater, where he further developed skills in stage movement, voice, diction, and dialects. Beyond performing, he is adept in stunt work and fight choreography and possesses horseback riding skills in both English and Western styles. With his athletic prowess, he excels in various sports, including basketball, baseball, football, soccer, and track and field. Mellina continues to leave his mark on the entertainment industry with his diverse talents and dedication to his craft.
