Jennifer Mary Hilary (14 December 1942 – 6 August 2008) was a renowned British actress celebrated for her contributions to stage, film, and television. Born in Frimley, Surrey, she honed her craft at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and made her professional debut at the Liverpool Playhouse in 1961, taking on the role of Nina in Anton Chekhov's The Seagull.

Hilary gained significant acclaim for her performance as Milly in the West End adaptation of Henry James' The Wings of the Dove. Over the years, she showcased her versatility by portraying a range of memorable characters, including Lady Teazle in The School for Scandal, Isabel in The Enchanted, and Cecily Cardew in Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. Her talent caught the attention of Sir Michael Redgrave, who cast her in Turgenev's A Month in the Country in 1965.

In 1963, she crossed the Atlantic to perform in Jean Anouilh's The Rehearsal, making her American stage debut. The following year, she starred as Zoe in the West End production of A Scent of Flowers by James Saunders. Hilary returned to New York in 1966 to portray Sasha in Chekhov's Ivanov at the Shubert Theatre, and in 1967, she captivated audiences as Ginny in the acclaimed production of Alan Ayckbourn's Relatively Speaking. Her remarkable career left an indelible mark on the theatrical landscape.
