William 'Wee Willie' Davis
William "Wee Willie" Davis (1906–1981) was a multifaceted American actor and former wrestler, whose career spanned various fields. Before making a name for himself in film, Davis showcased his athletic prowess in the wrestling ring. In the 1970s, he took on a unique role as the gym guard at the Jefferson County Jail in Louisville, where he served from 1972 to 1975, connecting with the local community in a distinct way.
In addition to his entertainment career, Davis made significant contributions as an engineer. He played a crucial role in the development of the Glowmeter, an innovative heads-up display that enabled drivers to see their speed projected onto the windshield. This invention marked an important advancement in automotive technology and laid the groundwork for future advancements in driver assistance systems. The Glowmeter was primarily devised in collaboration with fellow wrestler Prince Ilaki Ibn Ali Hassan, known in the ring as the Mad Greek, whose real name was Agisilaki Mihalakis.
