Shawn Christensen is a talented filmmaker and musician, known for his distinctive contributions to both the indie music scene and the film industry. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration and Graphic Design from Pratt Institute. Following his graduation, Christensen co-founded the indie rock band Stellastarr*, which gained recognition for its unique sound. The band released two albums with RCA Records and later produced a third album independently.

While touring with Stellastarr*, Christensen also honed his screenwriting skills, penning several screenplays, notably for "Sidney Hall," produced by Fox Searchlight, and "Karma Coalition" for Warner Bros. In 2011, his short film "Brink" garnered attention as an Official Selection at the Tribeca Film Festival and was honored as "Best Festival Film of the Year" by ShortOfTheWeek.com.

Christensen's most acclaimed work, the short film "Curfew," premiered in 2012 and went on to win more than 40 awards at various film festivals, culminating in an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 85th Academy Awards. Currently, he is in pre-production for a feature adaptation of "Curfew" and is set to direct "Sidney Hall," further solidifying his status as a versatile creator in both music and film.
