Stefany Mathias hails from North Vancouver, British Columbia, where she grew up as the only daughter of Squamish Nation hereditary Chief Joe Mathias and Janice Antoine, the principal of Coldwater School in Merritt, BC. Her passion for the arts blossomed at a young age, thanks to her mother's theater outings and her father's eclectic movie choices, which nurtured her interests in acting, singing, dance, and writing.

Stefany pursued her theatrical ambitions at the University of British Columbia, where she earned her degree in theatre. Her big break came when renowned writer Chris Haddock cast her in the critically acclaimed series "DaVinci's Inquest," marking the start of a successful television career that included roles in "Da Vinci City Hall" and "The Collector," as well as appearances in various independent films.

Furthering her education, Stefany attended Vancouver Film School, focusing on film production and directing. Her journey in performing arts began at just seven years old when she starred in a local cable production of "The Little Mermaid," playing the villainous Sea Witch, sparking her enduring passion for acting.

For twelve years, she also pursued dance until a shoulder injury redirected her focus. Following the passing of her father on March 10, 2000, Stefany took on the role of hereditary Chief within the Squamish Nation, standing among 16 hereditary chiefs, blending her artistic endeavors with her cultural responsibilities. Today, she divides her time between Los Angeles and British Columbia, continuing to make her mark in the arts.
