Ozzie Yue
Austin J. 'Ozzie' Yue is a talented Chinese actor, singer, and guitarist hailing from Liverpool, England. Born into a family with strong ties to both the local and Chinese communities, his father Jack was a prominent restaurateur and court translator, bridging cultural gaps between the two. Ozzie’s early education took place at the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, where he was contemporaneous with the legendary Beatles members Paul McCartney and George Harrison, humorously recalling moments of mischief in art class.
Initially, Ozzie pursued a career as an electrician through an apprenticeship. However, his passion for music led him to join The Hideaways, a Merseybeat band that frequently performed at the iconic Cavern Club, totaling around 250 shows. In the 1970s, he became a member of Supercharge, which achieved a number one hit in Australia in 1976. He also played with other bands, including Joker in the late 1970s and Yue Who, which remains active today.
Ozzie's acting career launched with extra roles at Granada Television, eventually leading to more significant parts from the 1980s. He gained recognition for his portrayal of the unfortunate restaurateur Mr. Wang in Tim Firth's series Preston Front and Sean Yin in a notable episode of Father Ted. His filmography includes appearances in major productions such as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Syriana, showcasing his versatility across mediums.
