Asha Sarath, born in Perumbavoor, is the daughter of V.S. Krishnan Kutty Nair and the esteemed classical dancer Kalamandalam Sumathy. She is married to Sarath and is a proud mother of two daughters, Uthara and Keerthana. Asha's artistic journey began under the guidance of her mother, mastering the intricate dance forms of Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi.

Her talent shone brightly when she clinched the top award at an all-India dance competition in Benares in 1992. Although numerous film offers came her way, Asha opted to focus on acting in television serials and telefilms initially. Following her marriage, she relocated to Dubai, where she continued to nurture her career.

One of her notable performances was in the telefilm "Nizhalum Nilavum Parayunnathu," which earned her the State Television Award for Best Second Actress. This recognition led to her acclaimed role as Jayanthi in the popular serial "Kumkumapoovu." A turning point in her film career came in 2013 when she portrayed a police officer in the blockbuster film "Drishyam," marking her first significant commercial success.
