Boni Boyer (July 28, 1958 – December 4, 1996) was an accomplished American singer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer whose remarkable career left a lasting impact on the music industry. Best recognized for her collaboration with Prince during the late 1980s, Boyer joined the iconic artist’s touring ensemble following her time with Sheila E.'s band. In 1986, when Prince sought to establish a new touring group after The Revolution disbanded, Sheila E. recommended Boyer, who served as both a keyboardist and backing vocalist.

Boyer's talents shone brightly during the tours for Prince's acclaimed albums, including *Sign o' the Times*, *Lovesexy*, and *Graffiti Bridge*. After the conclusion of the *Lovesexy* tour, she relocated to Australia, alongside Sheila E. and Cat Glover, both of whom were also integral to Prince's musical endeavors. In 1990, when Prince reformed his band as The New Power Generation, Boyer, Sheila E., and Glover departed, marking the end of a pivotal chapter in her career.

Throughout her life, Boyer collaborated with a diverse array of artists, contributing her expertise to projects with Tony! Toni! Toné!, Con Funk Shun, Digital Underground, Lionel Richie, and Al Jarreau. Tragically, her life was cut short when she passed away from a brain aneurysm in San Pablo, California. Despite her untimely death, her musical legacy continues to resonate with fans and musicians alike.
