Mike Leeder
Mike Leeder, originally from the UK, has nurtured a passion for Asian cinema throughout his life. He has resided in Hong Kong since 1990, where he has established himself as an influential figure in the film industry. As the Far Eastern Editor for Impact magazine, Leeder also writes for various other publications, including "Black Belt," "Inside Kung Fu," and "Femme Fatales," focusing on the vibrant Asian film landscape. He is recognized for co-authoring "100% Jackie Chan: The Essential Companion" and has contributed to several genre-related books.
Leeder's extensive experience spans both on-screen and behind-the-scenes roles in numerous films and television productions across Hong Kong and Asia. His documentary work includes titles such as "David Carradine: A Martial Arts Journey" and Sony's "The Art of Action: Martial Arts in Motion Picture" (2002), along with various projects for Discovery Channel, Channel Four, and Bravo network.
Among his recent endeavors, Leeder worked as a casting director for Jet Li's martial arts film "Huo Yuan Jia" (known as "Fearless") and appeared as Referee Randall in the associated documentary "The Passion of Martial Arts." He also served as the Asian Casting Director for Brett Ratner's "Rush Hour 3" in collaboration with Ronna Kress. His diverse credits include films such as "The White Wall," "Underground," "The Silencer," and "A New Beginning." Presently, Leeder continues to work as a producer, consultant, and casting director on various projects both in Asia and globally.
