Terri Abney
Terri Abney, known for her compelling role as Mildred's sister in the acclaimed film *Loving*, has made a significant impact on both the big and small screens. She has appeared in John Hillcoat's *Triple 9* and Peter Billingsley's *Term Life*. Recently, she showcased her talent alongside Gary Carr and Ian McShane in Dan Pritzker's film *Bolden*, which focuses on the legendary jazz musician Buddy Bolden and premiered in theaters in May of this year.
Hailing from Washington, D.C., Terri honed her craft at the esteemed Duke Ellington School of the Arts before furthering her education at Clark Atlanta University. She began her career in theater, performing extensively on the East Coast. Her film career took off with her leading role in Ryan Richmond's *Money Matters*, where she portrayed Monique "Money" Matters, sharing the screen with Aunjanue Ellis. She collaborated again with Richmond in the telefilm *Lyfe's Journey* and the feature *Chasing Waterfalls*.
In television, Terri made her mark in the inaugural episode of Oprah Winfrey's *Greenleaf*, directed by Clement Virgo, and had a recurring role in the show's first season. Her other credits include appearances in Donald Glover's *Atlanta*, a guest-starring role on *Game of Silence*, and a feature in BET HER's *One Crazy Christmas*.
Currently, Terri is developing her first feature film, *Victoria*, co-written with her partner Rashonda Joplin. She also recently directed a live stage reading for the New Normal Series, where a talented cast performed a short adaptation of *Victoria* in front of industry professionals.
