Liis Remmel

Liis Remmel, formerly known as Liis Lass, is a prominent Estonian actress celebrated for her work in theater, film, and television. Born on April 2, 1989, in Põltsamaa, Jõgeva County, she completed her secondary education at Põltsamaa Gymnasium in 2008. Liis pursued her passion for acting at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn, graduating in 2012 under the mentorship of Elmo Nüganen. During her studies, she showcased her talent in various diploma productions, featuring works by renowned playwrights such as Neil Simon and Molière.

Liis made her television debut in 2012, portraying Liisbet Reino in two episodes of the comedic crime series Kättemaksukontor on TV3. She gained further recognition with her recurring role as Anet in the crime drama Viimane võmm (2014-2015) and Marion in the drama series Restart (2015). In addition to her television work, she participated in several short films produced by the Baltic Film and Media School between 2010 and 2014, often collaborating with fellow classmate Pääru Oja.

Her film career includes a notable role in the French-Estonian drama Une Estonienne à Paris (2012) and a leading performance in the thriller Must alpinist (2015), directed by Urmas Eero Liiv. More recently, she played a significant role in the drama Võta või jäta (2018) and starred in the period romance-drama Soo (2022), directed by Ergo Kuld. Liis Remmel continues to leave her mark on the Estonian entertainment landscape with her diverse performances and dedication to her craft.
